Moving its accreditation procedure online is one of the innovations introduced for the 2012 editions of the Berlinale and European Film Market (EFM) next February.

Participants of the 2011 EFM will be able to use their previous log-in to register via their personal website account at the EFM website, while other film professionals wishing to attend the Berlinale or the EFM must create a personal account on the festival or market's website (www.berlinale.de or www.efm-berlinale.de).

A change to the EFM's badge system this year has seen the withdrawal of the EFM Screening Pass which had cost [euro]300 and only granted its holders access to the EFM Screenings. Instead, there will be a stand-alone Market Badge which, naturally, gives access to all EFM Screenings as well as selected Berlinale press screenings "depending on capacity" and selected official screenings of various festival sections.

For the third year running, the EFM will be offering festival and market participants a special "early bird" discount for a limited period until Nov 30 on the Market Badge ([euro]200 instead of [euro]300) or the combined Festival Accreditation + Market Badge ([euro]300 instead of [euro]400). …
