Swedish and Spanish Producers Unite in Valladolid; at Least One Co-Production Planned

More than 20 Swedish industry guests attend the Spanish festival.

Sweden is the guest country at this year's Valladolid Film Festival, the second largest festival In Spain. More than 16 features have been screened those days in Castilla, plus a number of short films and documentaries. More than 20 Swedish producers, sales agents, directors and actors have come to the city, including Swedish Film Institue co manager Bengt Toll.

The coproduction summit took place yesterday all day long and at least one co-production is on its way: Chema Rodriguez's Night Falls in India (Anochece en la India), a collaboration between Sweden's Atmo (Videocracy, Metropia) and Spain's Jaleo Films. Romania's Strada Films is also on board. The film tells the story of a man with a degenerative disease who travels to India to die. …
