Green Isle Adds $20M UK-Australia Comedy to Maiden Slate

The new LA-based production company led by industry veterans Edwin Larson And Scott Vandiver is backing the $20m project A Monster Problem.

The comedy is based on a story by Al Sorci and a screenplay by Brian Ward, who co-wrote Death Defying Acts and The Interpreter.

Green Isle, which is backed by a $60m multi-title financing deal with investment bank Allegiance Capital Corporation, has secured funding for the comedy through Bay Area investment company 2J's Entertainment.

Contrarian Tax Unit will package the tax credits ad 2J's serve as executive producer. The shoot is scheduled to take place in Scotland and Australia in summer 2012.

"2J's specifically is targeting higher end production projects," 2J's chief Marie Kardacz said. "We invest in entertainment projects that must be able to command maximum profitability at every phase of release. Therefore, we are thrilled to work with Green Isle Entertainment team on A Monster Problem, which fits our criteria. …
