IDFA Deals Include StudioCanal Taking UK on Vreeland Doc

Among deals at this year's International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), StudioCanal has taken UK rights to Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel from HanWay Films.

Lisa Immordino Vreeland directs the portrait of Harpers Bazaar and Vogue legend Diana Vreeland.

Also, HanWay continues to close deals on The Story Of Film, the epic documentary from Mark Cousins that tells the story of cinema in 15 parts. It has gone to ABC/Cinemien for Benelux; Icon for Australia; and Bim for Italy."We're planning a little theatrical release for it as well We're thinking of setting up screenings of two orthree episodes in arthouse cinemas," a spokesperson for ABC Cinemien said. The DVD box set will be released in Benelux in the spring.

ABC Cinemien has also taken the Vreeland doc and plans a summer 2012 release. …
