IFC Films Takes US Rights to the Samaritan

IFC Films has acquired US rights to David Weaver's The Samaritan, starring Samuel L Jackson, Luke Kirby, Ruth Negga and Tom Wilkinson.

Andras Hamori produces with Weaver, Suzanne Cheriton and Tony Wosk.

Executive producers are Mark Musselman, Lacia Kornylo, Mark Horowitz, Jackson, Eli Selden, Geoffrey Brant, James Atherton and Jan Pace.

Weaver also wrote the screenplay with Elan Mastai.

Jackson plays a man who gets out of prison whose goal for a new life is complicated by the son of his former partner.

The film was backed by Telefilm Canada, OMDC and the Harold Greenberg Fund.
