Loans for Scottish housebuilders

Stalled private housebuilding projects in Scotland could go ahead with help from a£10m Scottish Government fund. The Housebuilding Infrastructure Loan Fund will offer loans to housebuilders for roads, sewers, decontamination, flood remediation and demolition. Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure and Capital Investment Alex Neil said developments had stalled because finance for infrastructure had not been available.

Northern Ireland is to lose 12 Assembly members as a result of the proposed reduction in the number of Westminster MPs. The same boundaries are used for both London and Belfast elections, and each Westminster seat elects six Stormont members.
