Meryl Streep to Receive Honorary Golden Bear in Berlin

She will be presented with the lifetime achievement award at a screening of The Iron Lady during the upcoming Berlinale.

American actress and Oscar-winner Meryl Streep will be awarded an Honorary Golden Bear at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival.

She will be presented with the lifetime achievement prize on Feb 14 at a screening of The Iron Lady at the Berlinale Palast in Berlin. There will also be a homage series during the festival featuring her works Kramer Vs Kramer, Sophie's Choice, Out Of Africa, The Bridges Of Madison County, A Prairie Home Companion and The Iron Lady.

Streep's relationship with the Berlin Film Festival began in 1999 when she was awarded the Berlinale Camera. In 2003, she shared the Silver Bear with Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman for their performances in The Hours. In 2006, she starred in Robert Altman's Berlin competition film A Prairie Home Companion.
