These two discs are the result of this group's last two recording sessions. They have recorded a total of four compact discs. It is obvious that the instrumentation is patterned after the Django Reinhardt legacy. However, they make no effort to copy. A check of the tunes also shows they go in many directions for their repertory. You find a Jelly Roll Morton song, then another place a Charles Mingus opus, a Miles Davis offering, even a couple of Django's and spread throughout is some original work of their own. Nearly every member of the band does some writing. The originals are also very melodic and interesting.

This band does swing as most of the material is up tempo but there is some ballad work to keep the program interesting. …
