This is Carol Sloane's second recording for Arbors following Dearest Duke (ARCD 19350) in 2007 and, again, she is backed primarily by Ken Peplowski. The title, of course, is a tribute to Vera Lynn whose wartime recording of the song was tremendously popular during WWII. Carol's version, accompanied only by Bucky Pizzarelli, is a softer, slightly more tender version. …
