First of all, this is not a Concord Jazz release. Jack Reilly has put it out on his own label. However, like so many other recordings in this famous hall, the piano is great and the performance is great.

This concert is a mixture of classical and jazz and sometimes one wonders where the boundaries are. Maybe what I heard Willie "The Lion" Smith say one time, there is only two types of music good and bad, is the final definition. The Franck is done without embellishment. …
