TF1 Adds Aya of Yop City Adaptation, Ducoboo Sequel to Berlin Slate

Internationally acclaimed, Ivory Coast-set graphic novel Aya of Yop City to be brought to big screen by producers of The Rabbi's Cat.

TF1 International have added a trio of youth-focused titles to their Berlin slate in the shape of an animated adaptation of Aya of Yop City and live action films Ducoboo 2 and Asphalt Playground.

Aya of Yop City creators cartoonist Clement Oubrerie and writer Marguerite Abouet [pictured], are co-directing the adaptation.

The picture is being co-produced by Autochenille, the animation company founded by Oubrerie and The Rabbi's Cat director and comics artist Joann Sfar and Antoine Delesvaux to bring their works to the big screen.

Aya of Yop City has been published in more than 15 languages. The feature-length animation version is due to be delivered in the second half of 2012. …
