Unison's vote for action on November 30 provoked mixed reactions

CC: 30% of Members vote, 77% of those say yes. So 23% of members actually want to strike and that's overwhelming?

77% vote in favour is overwhelming compared with 23%. The fact that there was a low turnout is disappointing but ultimately irrelevant. You could just as easily say that less than one in ten voted against a strike.

MIKE ALLEN: The

Local Government Pension Scheme is fully funded for the next 20 years, so there is no reason for current members to be short-changed. This last-minute altering of the offer does not need a second vote.
