Le Pacte Racks Up Sales on Atiq Rahimi's the Patience Stone

Paris-based company also scores early deals on Guillaume Nicloux's period drama The Nun and consolidates business on Amazonia.

Le Pacte has secured a slew of sales on Afghan writer Atiq Rahimi's upcoming The Patience Stone, which made its first market outing with a promo reel at Berlin.

Thus far, the picture has sold to Filmcoopi for Switzerland, Seville Pictures for Canada, Cinéart for Benelux and Immovision for Brazil. Le Pacte sales chief Camille Neel also noted strong interest from the US and Australia.

The film, scheduled for delivery in time for Cannes, is an adaptation of Rahimi's novel about a young, Afghan woman trying to make sense of life as she cares for her husband, a former fighter left brain-dead after being shot in the neck.
