In the final weekend before Disney's "John Carter" invades Earth, Warner Bros.' stalwart family sequel "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" dug deep and collected $15.7 million in overseas weekend grosses.

"Journey 2," which finished its third weekend atop the international B.O., has cumed an outstanding $185.6 million, with a worldwide tally of $270.8 million. That's already more than 10%) ahead of its 2008 predecessor's lifetime global cume.

Germany marked the film's only major debut, contributing a No. 3-ranking $1.7 million on 438 screens.

Holdover markets were led by China, with a resounding local cume of $53.9 million, while in Russia and Mexico, the 3D family pic reached $17.2 million and $11.6 million, respectively. In Italy, the sequel dropped just 34% in its soph sesh, grossing $1.6 million in three days for a cume of $4.4 million.
