Bruno Wu's Seven Stars Film Studios has announced its second of three partnerships in the US in a deal with financier-producer Jake Eberts. First on the runway is the immigrant drama Mission Boys from Secretary screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson.

Eberts and Wu, the chairman of Seven Stars Film Studios parent company Seven Stars Global Entertainment and chairman of the $800m fund Harvest Seven Stars Media Private Equity (HSSMPEG), will act as principals of Allied Productions East.

Seven Stars Film Studios will oversee content creation while the new venture will focus on developing and financing content in the Asian market for Asian audiences using HSSMPEG's distribution platform and Eberts' producing experience.

Wilson has commenced work on Mission Boys, about 20 Chinese high school graduates who arrive in the US in the 1870s and are thrust into the competitive cauldron of Harvard and Yale. …
