Article excerpt

Denmark's CPH PIX (April 12-29) is to hold networking events for emerging film-makers this weekend.

PIX SESSIONS is gathering 25 promising film talents for networking, seminars, master classes and artist talks during the festival in Copenhagen.

The 25 emerging talents come from various backgrounds in short films, documentaries, visual and performance arts. All have directed at least one short film, but have yet to make their feature debut.

The film-makers, who come from a total of 17 European countries, are invited personally by CPH PIX on the basis of previous work, current projects and recommendations by European film festivals, critics and fellow film-makers.

Fred Kelemen, Yorgos Lanthimos and Matthias Glasner will give masterclasses moderated by Danish filmmakers and Danish filmmaker Jørgen Leth will also be in attendance, moderated by TIFFs Steve Gravestock. Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap (pictured) will also speak.

"PIX SESSIONS confirms our devotion to emerging filmmakers and we naturally hope that we will see great films from these directors in the years to come," said CPH PIX festival director Jacob Neiiendam. …
