Laddaland, Headshot Take Top Honours at Thai Film Awards

Horror thriller Laddaland and Pen-ek Ratanaruang's Headshot were the big winners at the Supannahong Awards, also known as the Thai Film Awards, which took place in Bangkok last night (April 29).

Laddaland, directed by Sophon Sakdaphisit and produced by Thailand's GTH, took six prizes including best picture, best screenplay, best actress and best supporting actress. It also took awards for editing and make-up.

Headshot took four prizes including best director, best actor for Nopachai Jayanama's performance, best cinematography and best sound.

Best supporting actor went to Wannasak Sirilar, a well-known stage performer in Thailand, for his role in Buddhist-themed detective story Mindfulness And Murder. The Outrage, a big-budget remake of Rashomon, took awards for best costume design and best visual effects.

The awards, organised by Thailand's Federation of National Film Associations, were held in the Siam Pavalai Theatre in the Paragon Cineplex. …
