Films Boutique Selling Two Critics' Week World Premieres

Berlin-based Films Boutique will handle international sales for David Lambert's Beyond The Walls (Hors Les Murs) and Bulgarian Ilian Metev's documentary Sofia's Last Ambulance [pictured] which will both have their world premieres in this year's Critics' Week in Cannes.

Lambert's drama centres on two musicians who fall in love at first sight and begin living together. However, their harmonious relationship soon becomes a turbulent rollercaster ride between love, addiction and passion, which will change their lives forever.

The co-production between Belgium's Frakas Production, France's Les Production Balthazar and Canada's Boréal Films will have its official and market premiere on May 20, and be distributed in Canada by Filmoption and Belgium by Cinéart.

Meanwhile, Metev's documentary following three paramedics through Sofia's crumbling medical system will have two 'buyers only' screenings before the world premiere on May 23.

Sofia's Last Ambulance was one of the projects pitched at the first edition of When East Meets West in January 2011 and as a work in progress in Jihlava's Doc Launch last October.

Films Boutique's managing director Jean-Christophe Simon will also have a premiere in the Marché du Film of Russian filmmaker Oleg Pogodin's action drama Dom - A Russian Family, starring Sergei Garmash, Bogdan Stupka - who received a Golden Eagle for Best Male Cameo from Russia's National Academy for Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences for his performance - and Vladimir Yepifantsev. …
