STAFF SHIFTS IN HIGHLANDS

Health and social care integrated

More than 1,400 adult care staff at The Highland Council have transferred to the NHS and about 250 health visitors, school nurses and similar staff have moved in the other direction to the council. The transfers are part of the Scottish Government's plans to integrate social and health care provision. NHS Highland will be the lead agency for adult services and the council for services to children.

NI HASTENS FARMERS AID

Single Farm Payments speeded up

Northern Ireland Agriculture Minister Michel le O' Nei Il has asked her officials to speed up paying Single Farm Payments. She said more staff, IT improvements and better administration should complete cases more quickly. O'Neill also said banks had been asked to 'show flexibility' about the problems late payments were causing farmers.
