The pilot project aimed at fast tracking emerging filmmaking talent from the UK regions, is being developed with money from Creative England's network fund.

Bristol based cinema Watershed is developing a new networking scheme, FilmWorks, aimed at connecting regional talent to the wider industry and audiences.

The networked professional development scheme will run September -December 2012 and is aimed at emerging filmmaking talent from the UK regions - both directors and producers -who are looking to develop a short or feature film project.

The aim is to fast track that regional talent to a national and international level through the programme.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a 'pitching' session at three regional venue hubs - The Showroom Workstation in Sheffield, Broadway cinema in Nottingham and the Watershed in Bristol - involving the regional producer, a senior member of the venue's creative team and an external industry practitioner. …
