One of my hobbies is reading about polar exploration; by studying the conduct of such expeditions I learned that sled dogs are greatly aided by having someone ski or snowshoe ahead of them. The Library Web can be viewed as a "front-runner" for others who are newly embarking on creating their own Web presence. This book contains 19 chapters that give significant detail about 19 unique experiences of libraries of all stripes.

I discovered several shared elements in each narrative. The key idea in Web site building is to always keep your target audience plainly in view. Many of the experiences appeared to be highly consistent in how each organization tackled getting the Web site designed and running; this indicates that the guide would be invaluable to anyone who prefers to follow a proven track. …
