Catholic Higher Education Ramps Up to Support Catholic Schools

Representatives of the organization known as Catholic Higher Education Supporting Catholic Schools (CHESCS) met during the NCEA Convention in Boston to establish bylaws and plan for a series of interactive presentations to be conducted during the Chief Administrators of Catholic Education (CAGE) annual meeting in San Diego this fall. Sessions at the CAGE meeting will be designed for superintendents and others to hear CHESCS members share developments and expanded services available to archdioceses, dioceses and schools, as well as to engage in conversations about their needs and the ways they can enrich the support of Catholic higher education for Catholic schools.

Housed within NCEA1 CHESCS membership is comprised of educators from Catholic colleges and universities that support Catholic elementary and secondary schools through degree programs, certificate/licensure programs, seminars and professional development experiences for Catholic school teachers and leaders or related organizations that support CHESCS.

The expanded purpose of the CHESCS organization is five-fold:

To promote collaborative relationships among all levels of Catholic education, including early childhood, elementary, secondary and higher education. …
