Kevin McKidd, Ashley Jensen Attached to Star in Ward's Indian Summer

Michael Hamlyn's Specific Films (the outfit behind Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert) is planning to begin production early next year on its new $4 million feature Indian Summer.

The film, which is to be written and directed by Brian Ward, will shoot in the Highlands. Kevin McKidd [pictured] and Ashley Jensen are attached. Further cast is expected to be announced shortly. The film is billed as "a bittersweet romance about love, life and identity, set in a remote farm in the Scottish Highlands in the summer of 1967."

Iain Brown is to produce. A sales agent is expected to be confirmed shortly and the project is likely to be presented to buyers at the AFM.

"We are well advanced in the financing of it. We are just trying to get everything lined up so next spring we can go into prep and start shooting next May," Brown commented. …
