BFI's Hitchcock Season to Close with the Manxman with LFF Gala

The film will screen in the Archive Gala slot at the BFI London Film Festival.

The BFI's Hitchcock season, The Genius Of Hitchcock, is to close with the world premiere of the newly restored The Manxman, which will screen as part of the London Film Festival (Oct 10-21).

The 1929 film - Hitchcock's last completely silent project - is based on Sir Hall Caine's novel and centres around a love triangle set amongst a fishing community on the Isle of Man.

It will screen as the Archive Gala at the BFI London Film Festival, at the Empire, Leicester Square with a new score by Stephen Horne on Oct 19.

The screening marks the end of the BFI's Hitchcock season, which was the culmination of a three year national archive project to restore Hitchcock's early silent films. The premiere will be in assocation with the Krasner Fund which has been donated to the BFI by Ella Krasner to support the BFI's archive activities. …
