Cinedigm Acquires US Rights to Journey Documentary

The company will release Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey in theatres, on VoD and premium digital platforms in spring 2013.

Cinedigm's Emily Rothschild negotiated the deal with Josh Braun of Submarine on behalf of the filmmakers. Submarine has separately licensed US TV rights to PBS, which will broadcast on its Independent Lens series in late summer 2013.

The documentary premiered at Tribeca and chronicles the story of Filipino singer Arnel Pineda, who went from being a homeless teen to frontman for the iconic US band after he was spotted performing in a YouTube video by a bandmember.

Ramona S Diaz directed and also produced alongside Capella Fahoome Brogden. John Baruck and Joshua Green served as executive producers.

"When our team saw it at Tribeca, we knew the film was a perfect fit," Cinedigm's vp of theatrical acquisitions Vincent Scordino said. …
