UPDATE: The distributor confirmed on Monday morning (30) that The Dark Knight Rises added $126.2m over the weekend and drew approximately 18m admissions from 17,200 screens in 57 markets.

Overall box office dropped a mere 49% and France led the openers on $11.4m ([euro]9.4m) from 892, followed by Germany on $11.3m ([euro]9.3m) from 1,029. Both results included previews.

Mexico generated $9.6m (Ps130) from 2,736 screens, Russia $8.3m (Rbl 270m) from 1,310, Brazil $6.8m (R13.9m) from 934 and Japan $5.8m (¥455.2m) from 546 screens including previews

The UK led the holdovers as $11.3m (£7.3m) from 598 boosted the running total after two weekends to $47.9m (£30.7m). South Korea produced $6.9m (KRW 8bn) from 818 for $27.4m (KRW 31.5bn), Australia $7.6m (A$7.4m) from 631 for $27.3m (A$26.6m) and Spain $2.1m ([euro]1.7m) from 608 for $8.6m ([euro]7m).

Meanwhile Fox International reported that Ice Age 4 brought in a further $50.7m from 15,932 in 69 territories for $516. …
