Fantasia Wraps Inaugural Industry Rendez-Vous

Two deals already announced from co-production market; over 250 attendees over the four-day period.

Montreal's Fantasia International Film Festival's inaugural Industry Rendez-Vous wrapped on Sunday (29), with two deals already announced out of its Frontières co-production market.

Alongside the already announced Blanc Biehn Productions' English language remake of Chilean horror Hidden In The Woods - receiving its world premiere on Aug 6 at the festival - France's Metaluna Production's Fabrice Lambot made a deal with Québec's TCB Films' Simon Trottier for an international co-production of Séve. Fabrice Blin's debut feature is set to begin shooting in Canada in 2013.

"I'm overjoyed that our first edition of the Rendez-Vous has already yielded results," commented Stéphanie Trépanier [pictured], Fantasia's Market Director. "Over the course of the weekend, I received many testimonies on how such an event, with a focus on genre film production, was missing from the festival circuit and how Frontières helped tremendously to bring attention to film projects and talents that need a little push in the right direction. …
