Ozon, Sorín, Tang, Doudeiri, Albert Bring New Films to San Sebastián

New international titles have just been announced for the official section of the upcoming 60th edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival, which kicks off Sept 21.

Françoiz Ozon returns to San Sebastian after Under The Sand (2000) and Hideaway (2009, Jury Special Prize) with In The House (Dans la maison), [pictured] a thriller about the relationship between a literature teacher and a gifted and turbulent adolescent pupil. Kirstin Scott Thomas, Emmanuelle Seigner and Fabrice Luchini star.

Argentine director Carlos Sorín is also a veteran of San Sebastián after Intimate Stories (2002), Bombón El Perro (2004) and The Road to San Diego (2006). He will compete this time with Días de pesca, a film set in his usual Patagonia about a 50-year-old alcoholic who starts fishing to cure his addiction. Alejandro Awada and Victoria Almeida star.

Lebanese director Ziad Doueiri, well known for West Beirut (1998) and Lila Says (2004), adapts an international best seller by Yasmina Khadra in The Attack, about an Arab-Israeli doctor whose wife kills herself in a suicide bomb attack. …
