Producers Lab Toronto Selects 24 European and Canadian Producers

The third edition of Producers Lab Toronto 2012 (Sept 5-8) has selected 24 participants this year.

They are 12 European and 12 Canadian producers who are looking for co-production partners.

European producers include Els Vandevorst from The Netherlands (Winter in Wartime), Ada Solomon from Romania (Best Intentions), Macdara Kelleher from Ireland (The Other Side of Sleep) and Canada's Stephen Traynor (Midnight's Children) and Sarah Timmins (The Tracey Fragments).

Traynor said: "We are always interested in meeting like-minded producers in order to develop long-term relationships for our current projects and for future projects. Our objectives for Producers Lab are to meet potential co-producers for our current slate of international projects, as well as to meet foreign producers looking for co-production and co-venture partners in Canada. It seems like a great fit."

European Film Promotion (EFP) organises with Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) and the Toronto International Film Festival. Backers include MEDIA Mundus, Eurimages and Telefilm Canada.

The networking platform has already spurred on 27 projects in active development. …
