Expanding into 40 additional markets over the July 25-29 frame, Warner Bros.' "The Dark Knight Rises" added $126.2 million to its overseas cume of $252 million.

The Warner tentpole had little impact on Fox's stellar animated pic "Ice Age: Continental Drift," which added a boffo $50.7 million weekend international gross for a total of $516.3 million.

The two films have kept overseas wickets busy, especially in some European markets where summertime B. O. tends to lag because of warmer weather. "Drift" has cumed $48.1 million in Germany, the pic's top market to date. "Dark Knight" opened in the territory with a solid $11.3 million - second last weekend only to France ($11.4 million).

The U.K. has been the top overseas territory for the Batman finale grossing $47.9 million after two weekends, and showing little adverse affect with the start of the Olympics. Other top territories for "Dark Knight" include South Korea ($27.4 million) and Australia ($27.3 million).
