The Body, Invader Lead Spanish Selections at 45th Sitges Film Festival

12 Spanish films will premiere in Catalonia, including two world premieres.

The Body [pictured], a horror thriller that marks the first film by writer Oriol Paulo (Julia's Eyes), will have its European premiere at the 45th edition of the Sitges Film Festival, which runs Oct 4-14.

The film sees a reunion of part of the same team that made the successful Julia's Eyes and The Orphanage. The Body is a production of Rodar y Rodar with Antena 3 Films and TV3, with Belén Rueda leading the cast.

As many as 12 Spanish titles will be present in the official programme with two world premieres in official selection: Daniel Calparsoro's Invader, a thriller about a man who tries to discover the truth about an accident that made him lose his memory, starring Cell 211's Alberto Ammán and Antonio de la Torre; while Óscar Aibar (The Great Vázquez) will screen El Bosc (The Forest), a fantasy-horror with Alex Brendemühl. …
