Millennium Buys Maisie, XLrator Snaps Up Thale

The Toronto deals continued to trickle in on Wednesday (12) as it emerged that Scott McGehee and David Siegel's family drama What Maisie Knew and Norwegian fantasy thriller Thale had found domestic buyers. In addition Freestyle Releasing has acquired Jinn.

Millennium - itself still very much the target of acquisition by the fledgling Exclusive Releasing label - negotiated the US deal for Maisie with WME Global.

Julianne Moore, Alexander Skarsgaard, Steve Coogan, Joanna Vanderham and Onata Aprile star in the tale of a divorce fall-out. The story is based on the novel by Henry James. Daniela Taplin Lundberg, Daniel Crown, William Teitler and Charles Weinstock produced and Riva Marker served as executive producer.

Millennium's slate includes The Paperboy, Little Birds, The Babymakers, Red Lights, A Little Bit Of Heaven, Rampart, Bernie and Intruders.

XLrator Media acquired all US rights to Thale (pictured) following the deal with Nate Bolotin of XYZ Films, executive producer Gudrun Giddings and Kim H Swartz at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp. …
