Ron Mobed, CEO of Elsevier Science & Technology since April 2011, was recently promoted to CEO of Elsevier B.V. He will direct the Health Sciences and other divisions. Youngsuk (Y.S.) Chi, who previously held the position of CEO of Elsevier Science & Technology before Mobed, remains the director of corporate affairs at Reed Elsevier and will work with Elsevier as liaison with its customers, governments, and industry associations.

Michael Hansen, the former chief executive at Elsevier Health Sciences, recently replaced Ron Dunn as CEO of Cengage Learning, Inc. Hansen had been CEO at Elsevier Health Sciences since May 2008; Dunn, who had been CEO at Cengage since July 2007, will be moving to an executive chairman role.

Emily B. Gore was selected as the director of content at the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA). She will oversee DPLA's hub infrastructure, including the implementation of state and regional digital service hubs as part of the Digital Hubs Pilot Program, supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities. She will also be managing the content provider relationships with digital library partners in the U.S. Currently, Gore is the associate dean for digital scholarship and technology services at The Florida State University where she is in charge of the scholarly communication, e-science, electronic resource management, technology, and digital library services.

Christopher Biclawski, a professor at the University of Texas- Austin, received top honors at the fall American Chemical Society (ACS) meeting in late August. …
