Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art, October 2-26

EACH FALL the International Masters of Fine Art exhibition is a highlight of the show season. It allows a number of well-known artists to showcase their finest works in the area of traditional representational art. A project of the International Museum of Contemporary Masters of Fine Art, it opens to the public in San Antonio, TX, at Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art on October 2. On Friday, October 5, from 5 to 8 p.m., there is a public champagne reception, and on Saturday, October 6, there is an open house from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The exhibition is viewable online beginning September 27 at www. internationalmastersoffineart.com.

Greenhouse Gallery, founded by Mark Smith and Jim Janes in 1982, represents nationally and internationally recognized artists and underwrites the Masters exhibition. "Often, the works of master artists sell immediately upon completion and disappear into private collections," says Smith. "This unique show allows others the opportunity to appreciate, enjoy, and study significant artwork. To be included requires artists to have continuously demonstrated exceptional skills over an extended period of time."

Award-winning artists Kevin Courter and Nancy Howe have both frequently participated in the exhibition. This year, Courier's work focuses on moody California landscapes. "This region has deep personal meaning for me," he says. "There is something so beautiful and graceful about seeing the ethereal in the landscape. People often tell me they experience a sense of quietness and peacefulness in my work, and that's important to me. …
