Tribeca Takes Two from Karpovsky

Tribeca Film has acquired North American rights to multi-hyphenate Alex Karpovsky's Rubberneck and Red Flag.

The company plans releases - including select theatrical and on demand in more than 40m North American homes - for the films, both directed by and starring Karpovsky, in February 2013.

Rubberneck (pictured) which had its world premiere at this year's Tribeca festival, is a character study co-written by Karpovsky and Garth Donovan. Red Flag is road trip comedy written by Karpovsky and starring him and Omar Tukel and Jennifer Prediger.

Karpovsky, one of the stars of HBO series Girls, has appeared Tiny Furniture, Sleepwalk With Me and Beeswax and will be soon be seen in the Coen brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis. His previous films as a writer-director include Woodpecker and The Hole Story. …
