President-Elect, Treasurer, and 17 State Delegate Positions to Be Decided
After a successful election in 2012, we will head into the 2013 election cycle following the same procedures we have used for the past few years. Following is a list of all candidates who have self-nominated and whose names will be on the ballots in January.
This year we will be electing a president-elect, a treasurer, and 17 state delegates. As you will see, we have well qualified candidates for all elections and many of the 17 delegate races will be contested by at least two, and in some cases, three or four candidates - NASP loves competitive elections. Additionally, write-in slots will be available on all ballots. As we move to a January election, the candidates will have ample opportunity to help you get to know them better. Almost all of the information will be placed on the Elections page of the NASP website (http://www.nasponline.org/ about_nasp/elections.aspx). Please go there to see election information and postings.
Included on the website are documents that explain the NASP campaigning policies, NASP Web user policies, NASP conflict of interest policies, and frequently asked questions and answers regarding campaigning. We hope all members will become aware of the policies that outline and clarify NASP procedures for the elections.
All campaigning by candidates and supporters must be communicated individually from one person to another either in person, by phone, or via electronic communication. The rule of thumb is one recipient per e-mail or post. This eliminates Listservs, Facebook, NASP Communities, or other broadcast postings as an acceptable method of campaigning. Please see the frequently asked questions on the NASP Election webpage for more examples.
The election will be held from January 7 to January 31, 2013. Members will be sent e-mail blasts reminding them to vote online or to request a paper ballot. Candidate information will appear on the NASP Elections webpage, in future editions of NASP Announce, and Communiqué.
