New Edition of BIOSIS Serial Sources on Compact Disc Supports Redesigned BasicBIOSIS

BIOSIS, an abstracting and indexing service for the life sciences, has announced the new 1997 volume of BIOSIS Serial Sources on Compact Disc. According to the company, BIOSIS Serial Sources will support the newly redesigned BasicBIOSIS, covering the sources in this database used by undergraduates worldwide. Its comprehensive serials file provides complete serial and publisher information for 6,000 active titles, as well as 12,400 archival titles, reviewed by BIOSIS for the Biological Abstracts product family.

The updated electronic edition uses Adobe Acrobat Reader software and contains a Portable Document File (PDF) that provides the following benefits:

An indicator for the 1,800 serials indexed cover-to-cover

Easy-to-use software for point-andclick access so users can search for any word, ISSN, publisher name, or address

Time-saving lists for displaying new serial titles or changed/ceased titles

Access to lists of active serials by publisher
