Shane Carruth Goes It Alone on Upstream Color

Shane Carruth's company erbp will self-distribute Upstream Color, the director's upcoming US Dramatic Competition entry and follow-up to his 2004 Grand Jury Prize-winner Primer. Meanwhile Gravitas Ventures has taken worldwide VoD and digital rights to Sound City.

Upstream Color will premiere at New York's Lincoln Center on Apr 5 and expand into a platform release prior to digital and VoD roll-out in May.

The film screened on Monday [14] for an invite-only crowd of programmers and theatre owners. Amy Seimetz stars with Carruth in the story of two people who come together in the life cycle of an ageless organism as they try to rebuild their lives. Casey Gooden, Ben LeClair and Meredith Burke produced.
