We've all heard about the horrors of sweatshops, human trafficking and prostitution. But what about human rights abuses connected to the products and services that you use daily? Slavery Footprint.org is a new online calculator that analyzes your lifestyle to determine how many people are held in captive work environments to produce the raw materials that go into your electronic gadgets, your food and your medicine cabinet. The site asks you detailed questions about your buying habits, and ultimately determines a rough estimate of the number of slaves that work for you using data from NGOs and the US State Department.
