You don't need to spend long on Google to find a photo of a young Ramzi Aburedwan lobbing a stone at an Israeli tank. Born and raised in a Palestinian refugee camp in Ramallah, Aburedwan's Reflections of Palestine reverberates with the impact of the Nakba (`catastrophe'). Indeed, the opening instrumental, `Rahil' (`Exile') is inspired by his grandparents' eviction from their home in 1948.

Now Aburedwan wages a musical intifada by bringing musical education to the children of Palestine via three organizations he was instrumental in founding: the Al Kamandjati ('violin') Association, the National Ensemble of Arabic Music of Palestine and Dalouna, an ensemble which explores Palestine and Eastern music. …
