LexisNexis recently revved up the speed of its Concordance Native Viewer for e-discovery. The results? There's a markedly faster processing time - 112% more, to be exact - making the e-discovery experience more efficient, according to Nadine Weiskopf, director of strategic planning for litigation software at LexisNexis.

The core of LexisNexis Concordance is software that manages and scans documents that are generated during ediscovery The software is designed to search, share, organize, master foreign-language documents, maximize OCR text documents, and ultimately produce discovery. And as part of the Concordance product suite, users can select between two different types of viewer add-ons to render documents: the basic Concordance Image and the Concordance Native Viewer.

"The advantages of our Native Viewer [are] that you can redact, open documents quickly, apply redactions, search, do color production, and get a thumbnail view so you can get a sense of what's coming up in the document," says Weiskopf While the Native Viewer was originally launched in mid2011, it was relaunched in late 2012 because it wasn't meeting expectations, she says. "We committed the necessary time and resources to making it faster," she says, and the Native Viewer can render those documents substantially faster and more cost-effectively than the PDF or TIFF process.

LexisNexis recognized the value in catering to smaller firms, especially since 90% of the law firms have 20 or 50 attorneys who have limited time and resources. …
