Goodbye Bafana producer Jean-Luc van Damme of Banana Films has revealed details of his new projects.

Van Damme is pushing ahead with a new $6 million biopic about legendary photographer Robert Capa [pictured].

The film, Capa In Israel, is to be directed by Eduardo Rossoff and scripted by Robert Butler. It is set in 1948, during the battle for independence in Israel. The aim is to shoot early next year.

Van Damme has secured rights to Capa's photography, which will feature in the film. Banana Films has signed an exclusive contract with ICP (The International Center Of Photography in NewYork) which holds rights to Capa's pictures.

Banana Films is also preparing an English language, Berlin set comedy called Schmuck. This is about an elderly New York Jew who comes to Berlin to make peace with his estranged daughter. …
