At age 92, Holocaust survivor Ernest Rosenthal has published a book of political poetry entitled Not For Drones (Vagabond Books, 2012). The professor emeritus at California State University Dominguez Hills is a familiar face to Los Angeles-area peace activists because he's a regular at anti-war demonstrations no matter what the weather conditions.

A series of February book signings will launch Rosenthal's entrance into the literary world. The first is scheduled for Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. in Beyond Baroque, 681 Venice Blvd, Venice, followed by two signings in L.A.: Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. in Book Soup, 8818 Sunset Blvd., and Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. at The Last Bookstore, 453 S. Spring St.

The poems reflect the author's unique life experiences, which began in Vienna, Austria, from which he fled in 1938, then served in the U.S. military during World War II. He and his wife live in the Hollywood Hills, where, he says, they have reached the combined age of 188 years. …
