ACTE Assembly of Delegates Approves Two Resolutions

At the annual ACTE Assembly of Delegates in late November, two resolution* wer« approved. Resolutions aie statements of concern, focus and position submitted by the membership for the Association lo consider. The two resolutions approved in 201 ? were focused on assisting members in Guam and Perkins funding. Their key statements included:

* Beil resolved that ACTE is committed lo assisting its members in the U.S. territory of Guam and their western Pacific neighbors in the development of career and technical education; and iu communicating and working with legislators and government leaders in Guam and the western Pacific region to assist in developing growth in local, siale and federal funding for GTE programs for Guam and the region.

* Beil resolved l hai ACTE supports Perkins funding to continue as a formula-driven grant to each ofthe states and to local recipients within slates.

ACTE Regional Award Deadline Change

ACTE has taken steps to res|x>nd to member needs and provide excellent customer service, In order lo make it easier for memben lo be recognized, the deadline for state winner applications to be turned in for regional consideration is now March 1. The winners at ihe regional level will be moved forward for national consideration tn the summer. The awards affected by this deadline change are:

* Teacher of the Year

* Outstanding Career and Technical Educator

* Outstanding \ew CTE Teacher

* Outstanding Teacher in Community Service

* Career Guidance Award
