Mistaken for Strangers to Open Tribeca

The New York-based festival will open on Apr 17 with the world premiere of Tom Berninger's documentary Mistaken For Strangers.

The film chronicles the biggest tour to date by The National, the Brooklyn-based band led by the director's brother Matt Berninger, as well as the director's amusing efforts to juggle his role as band roadie and irreverent documentarian.

Matt Berninger, Carin Besser and Craig Charland produced Mistaken For Strangers and former Oscar nominee Marshall Curry served as executive producer.

The premiere screening will be followed by a live performance by the band.

"Mistaken For Strangers exemplifies the independent spirit and vitality that Tribeca is excited to showcase every year," said chief creative officer Geoff Gilmore.
