Organisers at the 56th San Francisco International Film Festival announced the narrative and documentary competition sections on Tuesday [5], featuring such work as Tall As The Baobab Tree and A River Changes Course.

The New Directors Prize (Narrative Feature) Competition entries are:

Adrian Saba's mystery drama The Cleaner (Peru); Maria Florencia Alvarez's coming-of-age tale Habi, The Foreigner (Argentina, Brazil); Song Fang's family drama Memories Look At Me (China); Yang Yonghi's drama Our Homeland (Japan); Belmin Soylemez fantastical drama Present Tense (Turkey); William Vega's wartime drama La Sirga (Colombia, France, Mexico); Ramon Zurcher's Kafkaesque The Strange Little Cat (Germany); Jeremy Teicher's family drama Tall As The Baobab Tree (US, Senegal); Marcelo Lordello's coming-of-age drama They'll Come Back (Brazil); and the semi-autobiographical Youth (France) from Louis Malle's daughter Justine Malle. …
