TAMAR FRAN Kl EL has been appointed president of the Academy for Jewish Religion of California. Frankiel had been provost and professor of comparative religion at the academy. She earned a master's degree from Miami University and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago Divinity School.

LOREN BLANCHARD has been named the first provost of Xavier University of Lousiana. Blanchard will serve in the role in addition to his current post as senior vice president for academic affairs. He earned a bachelor's from Xavier, a master's from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La., and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, Athens.

MARTHA POLLACK has been appointed provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Pollack had been vice provost for academic and budgetary affairs at the university. She earned a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College, and a master's and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.

DR. TERESA R. MCKINNEY has been named assistant vice president for student affairs at the University of North Texas. …
