Huge Teacher Response Boosts UNICEF Fund: News

Survey finds 43 million teachers and pupils linked by site.

Teachers have helped TES raise enough money to protect almost 275,000 children from the deadly disease tetanus simply by answering an online survey.

Some 274,000 teachers responded to the questionnaire, which found that 43 million teachers and pupils worldwide use TES Connect resources in schools, with about 2 million teachers - roughly equally divided between primary and secondary - using the resources to teach 41 million pupils.

TES donated the cost of one vaccine to children's charity Unicef for each completed survey, a total of more than Pounds 10,000.

Louise Rogers, chief executive of TSL Education, parent company of TES, said: "We passionately believe in equality of access to the highest- quality teaching resources for every child. The fact that TES Connect now reaches a total of 43 million teachers and students across the world shows the site is having a phenomenal influence on how teachers collaborate, and prepare and deliver their lessons. …
