South Africa's Triggerfish Animation announced the latest voice cast element on the follow-up to the hit Zambezia. Cinema Management Group handles international sales and Millennium Entertainment will release in the US this year.

Fishburne joins previously announced Liam Neeson, AnnaSophia Robb, Jake T Austin, Loretta Devine and Richard E Grant on the 3D adventure about a half-striped zebra who goes in search of a magical watering hole.

Fishburne will play opposite Austin in the role of Khumba's father, Seko. Robb will voice Tombi, Khumba's female friend and Neeson voices the ferocious leopard Phango.

Triggerfish writers Raffaella Delle Donne and project director Anthony Silverston wrote Khumba [pictured] in consultation with The Lion King co-writer Jonathan Roberts. Stuart Forrest of Triggerfish Animation Studios produces.

Cinema Management Group head Edward Noeltner and his team have licensed rights in around 50 territories and expect to close the UK, Australia, Italy, Spain and Scandinavia after the market premiere screening in Cannes. …
