I approach any recording where the drummer is shown as the leader with a great deal of trepidation, expecting to be bored by one or more lengthy and dreary drum solos. I'm usually right! Therefore it comes as a pleasant surprise, as in this case, to come across a drummer who sees his function as a supporting musician and member of the ensemble rather than as the center of attention.

Kevin Crabb was born in Canada to a musical family and began performing - as a singer - at age eight. For several years thereafter, he appeared in TV commercials and was also featured in leading roles in several films and TV shows. During this same period, he had been studying drums and piano with some of Canada's leading teachers and while still in his early teens, joined his father's Cabaret style show as a singer and drummer. …
